Eleanor Weaver, 80, of Tallahassee passed away on April 21, 2023. Eleanor was born on May 2nd, 1942 in Marianna, Florida to Robert Curtis and Ethel Doris Donnell. Upon graduating from Florida State University she moved to Washington DC and worked for Don Fuqua in the House of Representatives where she excelled in her position due to her love for politics. Attending all the political functions including the Inaugural Ball in 1965 were the highlight of her time in Washington.
In 1971 she returned to Tallahassee and worked for Lieutenant Governor Tom Adams. During that time, she met and married James W. Weaver Jr and moved to Bristol, Florida where she became a homemaker and devoted herself to raising her two children.
After her children were grown, Eleanor returned to work at Dean Witter and studied to become a Financial Advisor winning Rookie of the Year. In 2005 she joined Raymond James and became an Operations Manager over multiple branches until she retired in 2016.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Doris Donnell, and her sisters Yvonne Donnell and Maryland Strickland. She is survived by her son, James Weaver, daughter Virginia Weaver, her two beloved grandchildren Jeffery Weaver and Sadie Mae Weaver, her daughter in law Vanesse Weaver, brothers Robert Donnell (Diane), Morris Donnell, and Doyle Donnell; her sister Jeanie Powell (Wally) who lovingly and devotedly took care of her all her needs, and many nieces and nephews whom she greatly loved.
The family would also like to thank the nurses and staff at The Grove at Canopy for the wonderful care she received in her final years and Big Bend Hospice in her final days.
The services have been planned for 11 am Friday, April 28, 2023 at Culley’s MeadowWood, 700 Timberlane Road.
