Ed was born on June 27, 1932 to the late Burton and Margaret (Boadway) Stevens/Bancroft, the oldest of 4 children. He graduated from Pontiac High School and received his associates degree from Lawrence Institute of Technology, his bachelor’s degree from Spring Arbor University and his M.B.A. from Wayne State University.
Ed served as an Army staff sergeant during the Korean Conflict, and met his beautiful bride, Priscilla (“Pat”) Hilda Richmond, while on leave from basic training. They corresponded for a year and half by writing letters daily (500 total) to each other and were married shortly after his return on December 18, 1954.
Ed designed valves at MAC Valves, taught Business at Spring Arbor University and was as a production manager at Rock Island Arsenal where he retired in 1996. He was an active member of the Lions Club and the Gideons International organization.
Ed was survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Priscilla; along with four children: Diane (Al) Mellinger; Doug (Carol) Stevens; DeLynn (Sam) Coppoletti, David (Kathryn) Stevens; seven grandchildren: Heather (Adam) Raymer, Brad (Zendra) Mellinger, Casey Mellinger, David Coppoletti, Mitch (Kate) Coppoletti, Chris Coppoletti, Michael Stevens; four great-grandchildren; and 3 siblings, Marv (Vera) Stevens, Grace (Ron*) Goodrich and Beverly (George*) Amon; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 4784 Thomasville Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32309
