Dale Ernest Newton passed away on October 7, 2024, at the age of 70 in Tallahassee, Florida. Born on March 6, 1954, Dale grew into a man known for his vibrant spirit and exceptional sense of humor. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who cherished making others laugh and sharing captivating stories.
Dale graduated from Howell High School in Howell, Michigan, and furthered his education at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. His professional life was marked by his craftsmanship as the owner of Southern Traditions, where he specialized in kitchen designs and countertops, earning recognition as an accomplished master craftsman.
He served his country with distinction in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1975, followed by service in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1978. His commitment to excellence was evident both in his military and civilian life.
Beyond his professional and military service, Dale was a gifted musician who enjoyed performing in bands during his younger years. His love for life was also expressed through his enjoyment of golf, softball, and water skiing, hobbies that he passionately pursued throughout his life.
Dale is survived by his wife, Kryss Eidschun; son, Brandon Newton; stepdaughter, Kristen Husband (Brad); stepson, Brett Gross; sister, Carron Southall (Mike); brothers, Clayton Newton (Debbie) and Scott Wellman (Kelli); four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Lindsey, and brother, Rick Newton.
A memorial service for Dale will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312.
