Curtis was a resident of Tallahassee Florida. He graduated from Lawton Chiles High School, completed two years as a Biology major at Florida A&M University then transferred to the University of Florida’s Medical Honors Program, an early medical school admission initiative where he completed two more years of undergraduate studies. He was poised to start his first year of medical school at UF in August 2018.
He was the favorite second-born son of Ralph and Vanessa Crowther and favorite brother of Devin Crowther. Curtis was a member of the Maranatha Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church in Tallahassee, FL and while in Gainesville, attended Gainesville SDA Church and Bethel SDA Church. In obedience to the Lord, he initiated the Stop For Prayer ministry on the campus of Florida A&M University, at his local church and then on the campus of the University of Florida.
Curtis is survived by his parents Ralph and Vanessa Crowther, his brother Devin Crowther, aunts Fiona, Norma (Lincoln), Jean (Trenton), Barbara, Donna, Roxanne (Cyril) uncles Adebanjo, Patrick, great-aunts Marva, Linda (Anthony) and Marjorie (James), great uncle Anthony (Joyce), grandmother Lucille, many cousins, church family, friends and neighbors who will miss him dearly. Deepest thanks to Liz Morris, Ruth Jacobs his loving care givers, Shands UF Hospital, University of Pittsburg Medical Center surgeons and nursing staff, Haven Hospice, Gainesville, Big Bend Hospice staff and their volunteers Sissy and Anthony, Aging with Dignity President Paul Malley and Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare staff Dr. Shah, APRN Kathleen and Nurse Bree.
Funeral Services will be at 10:10am on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Maranatha Seventh Day Adventist 3121 Jim Lee Road, Tallahassee, FL 32301 with interment following at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home and Memorial Park Cemetery- 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee.
