He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and a life-long fan of the Florida State Seminoles. He loved playing soccer, riding his motorcycle with his friends, and laughing with his family. He was a big help on his family farm, and he was an organ/tissue donor.
He is survived by his parents Jane Essig (partner Bob Jackson) of Tallahassee and Kevin and Lottie Essig of Belleview, FL; sister Kendra Essig of Pensacola; grandparents Mary Anne Hagler of Tallahassee, Tom and Gay Hagler of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Erwin and Norma Essig of Ocklawaha, FL; aunts and uncles M.R. (Auntie Em) and Phil Street, Wesley Hagler, and Kathy and Tony Williams, all of Tallahassee, Tony Anderson and Todd Essig of Ocklawaha, Michael and Magdalena Scaglione of Tampa, and Patricia and Mike Salmon of Hollywood, FL; many loving cousins and extended family members, a host of good friends; and special friend Veronica France. He was preceded in death by his aunt Sherry Anderson Bellomy."
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 9th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Culley’s MeadowWood Riggins Road Chapel, followed by a celebration of Cody’s life at 2:00pm.
