He was a graduate of Williamson High School and a college graduate from Cornell University where he obtained his degree in agriculture, specializing in fruit growing. He and Marlene eventually began their business as long time apple growers on their own orchard. He also gained his business degree from Simon Business School in Rochester, NY.
Lee was a Shriner with Damascus Shrine Temple in Rochester, New York; he was a member of the NY State Environmental Board; he served as President of the Western NY Apple Growers Association; he served as a member of the Wayne County NY Planning Board; he served as a Water Commissioner for Marion, NY; he served as a Director for Killearn Estates in Tallahassee, FL; and was a member of Fellowship Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee, FL.
Lee is survived by his wife, Marlene Johnson; son, Steven Johnson; daughter, Sheila Johnson (Doug Collins); brother, Lyle Johnson (Julie); and granddaughter, Arevik Collins.
A funeral service for Lee will be held Monday, September 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312. Following the funeral service will be a burial at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park.
