Brent “Peanut” Lawhon, 57, of Woodville, died Sunday (3/13) at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Tallahassee he has lived in the Woodville area all his life. He was a carpenter and worked in residential construction. He was a member of White Church and loved his church family. Peanut was always there to lend a helping hand and encouragement to anyone who needed it. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending as much time with his family as possible. He also worked for 19 years with Winn Dixie. Peanut was preceded in death by his parents: Frederick Leo and Isobel “Bell” Laing Lawhon, a grandson: Conner Lawhon, father-in-law: Owen Adams, and a brother-in-law: John Maloy. He is survived by his wife: Jacki Rae; children: Colby (Ginger) of Woodville, Cherry Rae (Ryan) Martina of Woodville; brothers: Buddy (Rene’), Mickey (Jeannie); sister: Amber Maloy; grandchildren: Alexis Martina, Noah Lawhon, Avery Martina and Ansley Martina; mother-in-law: Lavon Roush; sister-in-law: Patti (Charlie) Baker; Uncle: Buck Laing. His nephews and pall bearers, Turk Lawhon, Jason Maloy, Derek Lawhon, Holt Lawhon, Treavor Lawhon, Payton Lawhon. Nieces: Shawna Small, Candice Dean. Longtime family friends: Mike (Sherry) Aber and Frank (Angela) Aber. Along with the nephews, Mike and Frank Aber will also serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at White Church, Woodville, Wednesday (3/16) from 6 until 8 PM. The funeral service will be at White Church, Thursday (3/17) at 11:00 AM with interment following in the White Church Cemetery.
