Betty Jean Golden Goodson, 85, of Tallahassee, passed away Tuesday, December 5, at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. A native of Graceville, Florida, she came to Tallahassee in 1965 from Lake City. She was a former member of Parkway Baptist Church. Betty enjoyed sewing and quilting, gardening and cooking. Her greatest love was her family, and over the years she enjoyed going to FSU football games and St. George Island with all of them.
Mrs. Goodson was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Brantley Goodson, and daughter, Gaila Goodson. She is survived by her children: Pamela Goodson (Andy) McKenzie of Panama City, Suela Goodson (the late Carlton) Gainous of Cairo, Georgia, Brantley Bart (Cindi) Goodson of Tallahassee; her grandchildren: Neil McKenzie, Amber McKenzie Sale, Brittney Gainous (J.L.) King, Carley Gainous, Aubrey Gainous, Brantley Goodson; and her great-grandchildren: McKenzie Anne Sale, Reagan Sale, Anna Laura McKenzie, Tripp King, and Carlton King.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, on Sunday, December 10, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. with a Graveside service immediately following at MeadowWood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carlton Gainous Memorial Fund to benefit high school students at Five Star Credit Union, P.O. Box 794, Cairo, Georgia 39828.
