Allen Griffin

Allen was born in Chipley, Florida on October 7, 1938. He graduated from Chipley High School in 1956.

He was a loving husband to Odene T. Griffin whom he married on October 10, 1969. They were married for fifty-one wonderful years.

Allen was very passionate about farming and owned his own crop farm for twenty years. He also worked for the Florida Department of Transportation for thirty years.

Allen will be forever remembered by the surviving members of his family: sons, James Griffin and Edward Griffin (Shannon); grandchildren, Rymus Griffin and Melissa Stratton (David); great-grandchild, Taylor Stratton; and sister, Merlene Croft.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Susan Griffin; brothers, Doyle and Carlton Griffin; and sisters, Lucille Collins and Mable Tenefrancia.

Allen is remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who worked incredibly hard his entire life to provide for his family. He was a quiet, caring person, who valued the simple things in life. He enjoyed relaxing in his favorite chair, mowing the yard, and taking walks with his wife.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, 16 July, 2:00 PM at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
