Stanley Wilkinson was born on September 4th, 1946, in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Cecil Edgar and Ruby Marie (Willis) Wilkinson. He grew up with one brother and two sisters, Edwin, Linda and Kathy. He attended and graduated from Tahlequah High School. He then enlisted into the US Army and served his country honorably for 2 years. He returned to the Tahlequah area and began studies at NSU. He also started what was to be a life-long career in owning and operating convenience stores. In his last years working he served as the local Little Debbie man. He was the proud father of three daughters, Amanda, Candice and Cassie. Later he would also be the equally proud dad to four stepchildren, Jonathan, Jeremy, Tana and Tesha. Bud was a hard- working man. When the work was done and there was time to play, he could be found enjoying his wonderful collection of muscle cars, including his favorite 1969 Dodge Dart. Bud was very talented in the garden and raised beautiful vegetables, and shared them with everyone. If there was a furry friend with no home, they found a home safe with Bud. He didn’t care if they were canine, feline, goat, rabbit, or turtle, he cared for them all. He possessed a kind and loving heart and was always there to help his fellow man, with whatever he had and whatever he could do to make life good for them. He loved sports and his favorite teams were the Oklahoma Sooners and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a handsome young man, with a deep voice, a ready smile, a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. On May 28th, 2011, he took Angela Gaye Alcorn to be his bride. Together they enjoyed many wonderful memories of family gathering together, to celebrate a holiday or just a backyard cookout. He was the proud grandad of 24 grandchildren, and he was so proud of everything they accomplished or did in school. His health failed him and he passed from this life on September 20th, 2020 at the Muskogee VA Hospital, with those who knew and loved him close by his side. He was 74 years old and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Fulton and Margaret Willis and his paternal grandparents, Clark and Effie (Burris)Wilkinson, and his mother and father, Cecil and Ruby Wilkinson.
Those left to celebrate his life include his wife, Angela Wilkinson of the home in Tahlequah. He leaves his three daughters, Amanda Roberson and husband Thomas of Skiatook, OK, Candice Blackman and husband Johnathan of Tahlequah, OK, and Cassie Wilkinson also of Tahlequah, OK. His stepchildren include Tana Scroggins and Jackey of Tulsa, OK, Jonathan Lines and wife Kendi of Otis, OR, Tesha Holland and husband Derek of Fayetteville, AR, and Jeremy Lines and wife Maurissa of Brumley, MO. He leaves one brother and two sisters, Edwin Wilkinson and wife Carolyn of Tulsa, OK, Linda Holcomb of Richmond, VA, and Kathy Quay and husband Steve of Sand Springs, OK. Bud lives on in his 24 grandchildren, Samantha, Charlize, Tommy, and Shaelin Roberson, Makenzie Johnathan Jr., Michael, and Kaylee Blackman, Kaden, Kira, Keaton, Kaitlin, and Kyler Scroggins, Luke Norman, Sky, River, and Rayne Oldshield, Bowie, Dylan, Emma, and Adam Holland, Austin, Jared, and Hunter Lines.
