Ray Elmer Perry was born on November 9th, 1949 in Prairie Grove, AR, the son of Emmitt Perry and Stella Marie (Davis) Pack. He grew up in a household with two brothers and three sisters, Roy Davis, twin brother, Delmer Perry, Fannie Wickett, Darlene Porter and Lorene Davis. He attended school and then left to start supporting his family, and he worked his entire life. He worked at the “Chicken Farm” in Summers, AR, gathering eggs. When he was done for the day, he was outside. He loved working in the garden, raising beautiful flowers and vegetables. He had a horse named Half-Pint, and together they worked cattle. He was a tremendously gifted handyman, and he could fix anything that broke down. There was nothing better than gathering with family and friends, and sharing a good home cooked meal, his favorite was beans and cornbread with fried potatoes and anything else homemade from the kitchen. The sunrise and sunset was best observed from his own seat under the shade tree, he was happiest there. The final sunset came on Friday, October 6th, 2023 in Tahlequah, OK, surrounded by those he loved. He was 73 years old and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother and father, his twin brother, Faye Delmer Perry, and two sisters, Fannie Elsie Wickett and Darlene Porter.
Those left to celebrate his life include one brother, Roy Davis from Stilwell, OK, and one sister, Lorene Mae Davis of Tahlequah, OK. He lives on in many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
