Patricia Jean (Davis) Schemel entered this life on November 30th, 1942 in Springfield, OH, the daughter of Bertie “Roy” Leroy and Elizabeth A. (Kiser) Davis. She grew up in a household of three siblings, John, Thomas and Janet. After completing high school in Springfield, OH, she met and married the love of her life, Ralph “Buster’ Schemel. Their union was blessed with three children, Martin, Debra and Ralph. The family moved up and down the east coast due to Busters military career, finally settling in South Carolina where Patricia furthered her education to earn her Bachelor's Degree. It was then she moved to Georgia to begin her career as a civil engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation in Atlanta. After his passing, she married Thad Gray. When Patricia wasn’t working or caring for the family, she enjoyed many different crafts. She could make absolutely anything involving a needle and thread, including her beautiful quilts. She used her creativity doing crochet and embroidery; even some woodworking during her younger years. Patricia was strong and independent; even a little feisty at times, but she loved her family with all her heart. Her grandchildren were her world and was blessed every time they came by for a visit. On October 22nd, 2021, this loving and faithful soul was called to her heavenly home at the age of 78 years old. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those that knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Schemel, her parents and two grandsons, Steven Carney and Brian Sharp.
She is survived by her husband Thad Gray of Palmetto, GA, daughter, Debra Orr and husband Tim of Peggs, OK, two sons, Martin Schemel and wife Susan of Titusville, FL and Ralph “Tony” Schemel and wife Addie of Inola, OK, step-daughter Holly Arrendale and husband Kyle of Newman, GA, step-son Kent Gray of Zebulon, GA, one sister, Janet Ennis and husband Robert of Urbana, OH and two brothers, John Davis and wife Julia of Springfield, OH and Thomas Davis and wife Bonnie of South Vienna, OH. She also leaves six grandchildren, Christine Turner and spouse Aubrey of Oilton, OK, Koltyn Morel of Edmond, OK and Scott Williams Sharp and wife Kristen of Titusville, FL, Isabella Arrendale, Isley Arrendale, Aria Arrendale of Newman, GA, Jaden Gray of Zebulon, GA along with her great grandchildren, Katlynn Jo Turner, Peyton Turner, Elijah Turner, Sophia Turner, Lilian Sharp and Ryder Powers and a host of friends and loved ones.
Memorial services for Patricia Jean Schemel-Gray will be held on November 1st at 4:00 at Peggs Community Church with Pastor Rex Hendrickson officiating. She will join her husband and grandson at Mt.
