Matthew Eric "Motsie" McLemore

Matthew Eric McLemore (Motsie) was born to Edwin & Evelyn McLemore Oct. 7th 1988 at Hastings hospital. He went to be with the Lord on Feb 7th 2021 at the age of 32 years and 4 months to the day. He was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County & was self-employed. Motsie was drawn to the water like a turtle with the river being his second home while enjoying jumping off the cliffs, fishing, and taunting the rafters going by. Motsie is preceded in death by his sister Phyllis Ann Yargee and his grandfather Rogers McLemore. His surviving relatives include; parents Edwin and Evelyn McLemore, siblings, Wilma Barnett – Okemah, OK, Cecelia Barnett- Wetumka, Ok, Annora Barnett- Okmulgee, OK, Lewis and Shirlene Proctor – Tahlequah, Jarrod and Gwendolyn Proctor- Tahlequah, OK, James “Chip” McLemore- Wetumka, Houston Tehee of Sallisaw, & Candessa Tehee of Tahlequah and a whole Tribe of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews he held dear. Special brothers include Coy & Nate. Motsie will be dearly missed by those who knew him and was taken from this realm too early, in our eyes, but Motsie was saved and baptized a few feet from the same place his great grandfather and was comfortable for the next journey he is on.

Funeral services for Matthew Eric “Motsie” McLemore will be held on Wednesday, February 10th, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Motsie’s Home in Briggs, OK with Pastors DJ McCarter and Dale Wilson officiating. He will be laid to rest at Cedar Tree Cemetery in Briggs, OK. A wake service will be held on Tuesday, February 9th, 2021 at 6:00 pm also at Motsie’s home.
