A Celebration of Life for Martha Dean (Harper) Denny will be announced at a later date. She was born on March 18th, 1944 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Mack and Rubye (Rowe) Harper. She grew up with two brothers and two sisters, Billy, Sally, Evelyn, and Roger, Martha being the baby. She attended and graduated from Wagoner High School, where she held a position on the cheerleading squad. In 1965, she met and married Douglas Denny. Together they raise a son and a daughter, Jason and Jennifer. She worked a number of jobs over the years, the one she enjoyed was an educational assistant helping children learn and grow. When she wasn’t working, she was taking care of her family. Martha loved to go to the garden and raised flowers and vegetables. She had an exceptional eye for arranging things, including her landscape. She enjoyed crocheting and needlework, liked painting ceramics and catching up with a good book. You could often find her in the kitchen making her famous Irish Pasties. Roast beef dinners and her coconut pie was perfection. Martha liked her surroundings clean, organized and tidy. She possessed a wicked sense of humor and an ornery streak when you least expected. She enjoyed time spent with her favorite grandson, Joshua Lashier, he made her smile. Martha passed from this life on December 6th, 2021. She will be greatly missed for all the beautiful memories she made for those she loved.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother and father, and all of her brothers and sisters.
Her memory will be cherished by children, Jason Denny of Yerington, NV and Jennifer Denny of Tahlequah, OK. She also leaves the father of her children, Douglas Denny of Yerington, NV. She lives on in her grandson, Joshua Lashier of Tahlequah, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousin and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
