Louise Lacy was born on September 19th, 1936 in Kenwood, OK, the daughter of James and Carrie (King) Lacy. She grew up with five siblings; her brother, George and four sisters, Lula, Lou Ann, Betty and Judy. Church played a big role in Louise’s life and she loved any chance to be there. No matter the need, she was willing to pray with anyone and everyone that came to her. She prayed diligently for her family and was a true prayer warrior. Louise was a faithful member of the Elm Prairie Baptist Church where she acted as their Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer. Many years ago, she began to sing gospel music in the Cherokee Choir and was blessed with the opportunity to travel all over the country. Her family loved to hear her sing for the Lord. When she wasn’t traveling or at a church event, as an avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching basketball and football, especially the Oklahoma Sooners, along with a couple of her favorite shows, Dancing with the Stars and the Bachelor. Louise had quite the assortment of Indian dolls she’s collected over the years. She was mesmerized by today’s technology and laughed when her nieces play with filters on their snap chat. You would always see Louise with the biggest, beautiful smile and had the greatest sense of humor that would brighten everyone’s day. She continued to have a positive and upbeat attitude despite how she may be feeling or situations of life. At a very young age, she developed arthritis. That did not slow her down one bit. Louise was very independent and managed to do all of her own shopping and made a point to live life to the fullest. On September 10th, 2016, in Tahlequah, OK, Louise was called to her heavenly home to meet her Lord and Savior at the age of 79. She spent her life dedicated to the Lord, her church, and her family. Her life was a testament of faith and love of the Lord and the joy that her life brought to everyone will never be forgotten.
