Tahlequah, OK- Funeral services for Gregory Frank Smith will be held on Tuesday, December 16th, 2014 at 2:00 Pm at Reed-Culver chapel with Reverend David Cook of DD Etchison Church officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 6:00 Pm at Reed-culver Chapel. Interment will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Stilwell, OK. Pallbearers for Gregory include Carl Rossignol, Daniel Hummingbird, Matt Coon, Carl Coon, George Ketcher and Michael Perriman. Honorary pallbearers include Derrick Bruner and Patrick Jackson.
Gregory Frank Smith was born on December 6th, 1968 in Tulsa, OK, the son of Ronald Smith and Maxine Flute. He attended school at Webster in west Tulsa and was a proud member of the Webster Wrestling Team, receiving a wrestling scholarship to OSU. He loved any contact sport, but was very talented at wrestling. Gregory made friends easily because of his warm smile and big heart. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and friend. He loved OU, OSU, and Dallas Cowboy football. He was always listening to music of some kind or another, and especially 80’s hits. He married Kerrie Crosser on January 27th, 2012 in Tahlequah, OK, a love story that began April 2nd, 2003. They had a daughter, Parise. Gregory worked at a number of professions, but most recently at Cherokee Nation. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to joke and play pranks on his many friends. He was laid back and easy going, life for him was to be enjoyed daily. A Christian by faith, he attended Cornerstone Fellowship. His health began to fail him and Gregory passed from this life on December 11th, 2014 at Tahlequah, OK. He was 46 years old. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
Gregory is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rusty and Polly Ann Ketcher, and his stepfather, John Hopper.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kerrie of the home, his daughter, Parise Smith of the home, and his mother and step father, Maxine and Billy Ellis of Tahlequah, OK. He leaves a stepson and step daughter, Derrick Bruner and Brooklynn Bruner all of Tahlequah, OK. He has one brother, Jason Hopper of Tahlequah, OK, two nieces, Izabella and Jessica Hopper of Tahlequah, OK, one uncle, George Ketcher of Welling, OK, Aunt Carol Rosser of Tulsa, OK, cousins Tawney and Autumn Ketcher of Welling, OK, and Patrick Flute of Tahlequah, OK, and his very special friends, Carl “Chooch” Rossignol of Tahlequah, Rosie Rossignol of Tahlequah, and Patrick Jackson also of Tahlequah, OK, as well as many friends he has made along the way.
