Edith Arlene Carpenter

Edith Arlene Krouse Carpenter, 63, of Canadian, OK passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020. She was born on September 1, 1957 to Eugene Burl Krouse and Ruth Ann Bearpaw in Tahlequah, OK. In her early years, she lived in Welling, OK and attended 1st through 3rd grades at Boudinot School. The family moved to Tahlequah where she attended Tahlequah public schools, graduating from Tahlequah High School in 1975. She continued her education at Northeastern State University and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology. Edith fell in love with Ken Carpenter and they married on December 31, 2010 at New Beginnings Church in McAlester, OK.

Edi was a Secretary at Maryetta Public Schools in Stilwell, OK for 15 years. She was a member of 4 Rivers Fellowship Church in McAlester, OK. She was a certified Master Gardner and was involved in many garden clubs in her lifetime. She had a love for plants, animals, and all things of nature. She especially enjoyed collecting rocks and minerals; and attended many rock/mineral/gem shows in her area.

Edi was always a happy person and had a positive attitude for everything in life; her greatest pleasure was doing things for others and serving the Lord.

Edi was preceded in death by her grandparents Coy and Anna (Mutzig) Krouse, and Shakey and Mary (Sanders) Bearpaw; her father Eugene Burl Krouse and mother Ruth Ann Bearpaw; her Uncle and Aunt Charles and Mary Lou (Krouse) Edmonds; Aunt Ruby (Sanders) Ruckman, Uncle James Leroy Bearpaw, and Uncle George Leon Bearpaw.

Those left to cherish her memory are husband Kenneth Carpenter of the home; step-daughter Anne Carpenter of San Antonio, TX; step-daughter Abbigail Cramer and husband James of Dallas, TX and their children Dane, Cohen, and Evan; step-daughter April Lowden and husband Brandon of Colorado Springs, CO and their children Martha, Emma, and Lilly; step-son Benjamin Carpenter and wife Andrea of Denton, TX; Father and Mother-In-Law Geoge and Martha Carpenter of McAllen, TX; Uncle Robert James Bearpaw; sister Brenda Krouse Fitzgerald and husband Brett and their children Tyler Williamson, Katie Sloan, and Abby Resecker-Fitzgerald; sister Glenda Krouse Sellers and husband Vernon, and a host of cousins, church family, and loved ones.
