Ft. Gibson, OK- Funeral services for David Wayne Lee will be held on Thursday, June 26th, 2014 at 10;00 AM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Matt Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow at Bunch Cemetery in Adair County, OK. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th, 2014 from noon until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. Pallbearers for David include Jack King, Lane Payne, Bill Reese, CJ Hart, Kyle Black, and David Allen Lee Honorary pallbearers include James Oliver and Billy Hayes.
David Wayne Lee was born on December 12th, 1959 in Stilwell, OK the son of Earl F. and Ruby Jean (Tom) Lee. When he lived in the area, he earned a living working construction or cooking in restaurants. He enjoyed his time off while fishing with friends and family or looking for that special bargain at flea markets and garage sales. David was friendly and outgoing. He was always willing to take the time to share a cup of coffee and a visit. He loved time spent with his family and sharing a meal and a visit. A Baptist by faith, the Lord called David home from his labors on June 21st, 2014 in Checotah, OK. David was 54 years old. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
David is preceded in death by his Father Earl F.Lee, his grandparents, and one nephew, Brent Lee Black.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda McKissack-Lee of Checotah, OK. He leaves his mother, Ruby Jean Lee, of the home in Ft. Gibson, one son, David Allen Lee of Muskogee, OK, and one daughter, Micky Lee of Florida and one stepdaughter, Laura Cowan and husband Chris of Oklahoma City, OK. David leaves three sisters, Mary Ross and husband Edgar of Ft. Gibson, OK, Earlean Duncan and husband Stan of Henderson, TX, and Sheila Strickland and husband Keith of Tampa, FL. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren, Desirae Lee of Ft. Gibson, OK, David Gene Lee of Tahlequah, OK, and his three step grandchildren, Travis Stokes, Lane Payne, and Blake Cowan, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
