Dave "Bull" Dykes

Funeral services for Dave “Bull” Dykes will be held on Wednesday, November 11th, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Oaks Gymnasium in Oaks, OK. Interment will follow at Bill Batt Cemetery in Rock Ford, OK. Wake services will be held on November 10th, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.reedculver.com.

Pallbearers for Dave include Roger Harvey, Jim Chancellor, Gary Manning, Lil’ Joe Hill, Cody Russell and Lil’ Bill Fields. Honorary pallbearers include Choogie Young, Chero Young, Jackie Simmons, Rommy Battiest, Cameron Fowler and Mike Sanders.

Dave Dykes, also known as “Bull” by his friends, was born March 1st, 1947 in Rocky Ford, OK, the son of Louis and Jessie (Smith) Dykes. On August 20th, 1968, he married the love of his life, Hazel Battiest. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Rhonda and Penny. Dave worked as a truck driver for 45 years, traveling the country, until his retirement at the age of 62 from Delaware County in 2009. Dave passed from this life on November 7th, 2015 at his home in Colcord, OK. He was 68 years old.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Hazel, of the home; two daughters, Rhonda Dykes of of Colcord, OK and Penny Young and husband Chero also of Colcord, OK; three sisters, Lou Washington of Rocky Ford, OK, Faye Manning and husband James of Chance, OK and Rosie Dykes of Rocky Ford, OK and one brother, David Dykes and wife Jody of Twin Oaks, OK. His legacy lives on through his four grandchildren, Loren Danae, Jessie Marie, Choogie and Alyssa Kate, all of Colcord, OK; three nieces, two great nieces, three great nephews, one great great nephew and a host of family and friends.
