Corey Alan Taylor was born on March 6th, 1982, in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Claude and Cordia Bell (Sparks) Taylor. He attended school at Sequoyah. Ever since he was a young man, he loved sports, from basketball to horseshoes. He was always ready to shoot a game of pool and loved to sink a line at the river or lake. When the weather turned cooler, Corey was ready to root for his favorite football teams, Notre Dame and Dallas were his favorites. He earned his living as a welder/grinder at Express Welding. He loved his work and always went above and beyond. When at home, he worked on the vehicles parked around the place and kept watch over his nieces and nephews, he adored them. He was stern and made them tow the line, but he always made sure they had a good time with Uncle Corey. He was quiet and reserve, and loved the view from his own backyard the best. His favorite pastime was gathering with his family for a Sunday diner of a holiday. He had a dry sense of humor and a quick wit, making him the funny man at the table. Corey fought a courageous battle with cancer. He never lost sight of fighting the cancer, and staying around for those that needed him. The Lord called Corey home from a well fought fight on February 2nd, 2022, in Tulsa, OK. He was 39 years old and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Louise and Leo Taylor, Lucinda Standley and Major Sparks, his father, his sister, Carissa Dobson, and his niece, Jacklyn Dobson.
