Tahlequah, OK – Bobby Joe Moon age 61, came to the end of his life's story on Friday, September 20th, 2013 in Tulsa , OK . A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Reed Culver Chapel in Tahlequah. Officiating will be his brother Earl Moon, friends Bert Goodwin, Bill Elliot, Jim Smythe and sister-in-law Carolyn Moon. Interment will follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery with Pastor Jim Inglett and Tim Nixon officiating. Pallbearers will be Derek Abshier, Mark Brasher, Trevor Crouch, Mitchell DuVall, Gary Goodwin, and Jey Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Moon, and Tim Nixon. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the family present from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Reed Culver Funeral Home.
Bobby was born in Barnsdall , OK on December 8th, 1951 to Don A. and Kathryn L. (McConnell) Moon. Don and Kathryn moved to Tahlequah , OK shortly after Bobby was born. He was raised and lived in Tahlequah his entire life. For many years, Bobby owned and operated his own plumbing business as well as owning Kuk Sool Won, a Martial Arts school. Martial Arts was the highlight of his life. As a 4th degree black belt instructor, he loved being able to share and teach so many others the Martial Arts Discipline. Hobbies included fishing and snow skiing. Bobby had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed spending time cutting up with friends and family. He was very laid back and thought others took life too serious. Bobby is remembered by his long time friends for his loyalty and willingness to help others. He is loved and will be deeply missed by all those who were lucky enough to know him and share in his personal story.
He is preceded in death by his Father, one brother James Moon, and one sister Shirley Moon.
Those left to continue sharing the story of Bobby include his mother, Kathryn, of Tahlequah, OK, two brothers, Earl Moon and wife Carolyn of Sapulpa, OK and Orville Moon of Oklahoma City, OK, one niece Kimberly Bowling of Dayton, OH and a great niece, Tori Bowling of Dayton, OH, as well as a host of other friends and loved ones.
