Betty Ruth Christie

Betty Ruth Christie was born on September 14th, 1945, in Sacramento, CA. She is the daughter of Olen and Alice Marie Scott and had two brothers Earl and Ray Scott. She married the love of her life, Bobby Lee Christie, on January 19, 1991, in Dry Creek and together they built a life of love and laughter for thirty-three years. Betty adored all her children, her son Christopher Doss and wife Kristina, her daughter Angela Doss, her two stepsons Carey Christie and wife Christy, Rob Christie and husband Gabriel, and their granddaughter they raised together Allison Smith and husband Bailey. Betty worked hard her entire life, from working at a hospital, nursery, school and then office manager of the one and only Christie’s Pump Service. But her most important job was caring for the one’s she loved, whether it was making sure your belly was always full, doctoring you up or just making sure you felt loved and important. She found great joy in attending church and being a beloved member of her church family at Briggs. Holidays at Bob and Betty’s were always a special time of warmth, love, and delicious home cooked meals. Her holiday meals were legendary and brought everyone together in joy and celebration. Her favorite things to do were to travel with Bob, tending her knock out roses, reading, shopping, watching her hummingbirds, taking care of all her pets, and best of all being with her dearest friend Ruby Wallace.

Betty devoted her life to serving the Lord with unwavering faith and dedication. Jesus welcomed her home on November 8, 2024, in Tahlequah, OK surrounded by loved ones. She will be greatly missed and would want her memories to be looked back on with joy.

She joins her grandparents, her mother and father, one son Carey Christie, brothers Earl and Ray Scott, nephew Watie Thirsty, and many other loved ones.

She leaves behind grandchildren that meant the world to her, Krisha Hudson, Joshua Hudson, Aaron Christie, Isaac Monks, and Pistol Doss. Her great grandchildren Mckynzie and Katlyne Winchester, Lillian Hudson, Rumi Christie and Stryder Smith. Sister-in-law Betty Lou Davis and husband Dale, and so many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones she has made along her lifetime. Rest in Heavenly Peace.

A visitation for Betty will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home, 117 West Delaware Street, Tahlequah, Oklahoma. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Brother Shawn Petree officiating. Interment will follow at Stillwell Cemetery, in Stillwell, Oklahoma.

Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Davis, Rick Scott, Aaron Christie, Joshua Hudson, Bailey Smith, and Chris Lindholm. Honorary Pallbearers include Shawn Petree, Gabriel Alderete, Jeff Eubanks, Trent Reed, Keith Davis, Kevin Davis, Dale Davis, Isaac Monks, Rob Christie, and Briggs Holiness Church.
