This is the story of one faithful, ordinary man named Kim L. Gordon. He was faithful first to God who moved in and through his life. He was deeply loved by his wife, his children and family. Many others have been affected by his faithful life and there has been an outpouring of grief over his loss. He was respected and looked up to as he quietly, and sacrificially lived life. He was smart, fun and funny. He has left a hole in our broken hearts and where he once filled places and spaces in this world. And oh how much we will miss laughing with him. He has left a great legacy and he will always be loved and remembered. We did not want to say goodbye but we rejoice with him as he is now in his forever home with Jesus, pain and cancer free. Kim was born on December 2nd, 1955 and breathed his last breath at 5:07pm, May 23rd 2018 and began his new life at 5:07pm, May 23rd 2018. Hallelujah!
Kim retired from Boeing after 31 years of employment and was respected and honored by his colleagues for his years of service and expertise in the estimating and pricing airplane part fabrication division. As well as developing friendships, he provided an amazing life for his family through his faithful and constant employment.
His time spent in the Air Force from 1976 - 1979 was a first chance at adventure and opportunity for education as well as to serve his country. He received the Good Conduct Medal and also memories for a lifetime.
His faith took precedent overall. He humbly served the Lord Jesus Christ and raised his family in the Christian Church. He served Gods people many years leading small groups and loved studying his bible.
Photography was a lifelong love affair; capturing nature, his travels, his people and adventures. He was genuinely awe inspired by his earthly home. Considering the vast beauty this Earth has to offer, 1 Cor 13:12 “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known”.
He also enjoyed camping, golfing, biking and hiking and there were many years he focused on playing his guitar and worship music. He also holds a 2nd degree black belt in Okinawan Shōrin-ryū style Karate, but his true hobbies always included his family, they were his life. His passion for loving, learning and adventuring were passed down to his kids. He loved taking trips with his wife Jill to the National Parks. He enjoyed playing golf with his sons and his life’s highlight recently was celebrating his daughters’ wedding on the home property.
Kim is survived by his beloved wife Jill (Shaw) Gordon - Kent, WA. Treasured sons, and friends, Kevin Gordon – Seattle, WA, Scott Gordon - Kent, WA, Greg Gordon - Kent, WA. Favorite daughter, his princess, Lindsay (Gordon) Anderson married to Wesley Anderson - Seattle, WA. We, the Gordon family, thank Jesus our Savior, who like a shepherd leading us, cared for Kim and our family his last miraculously and God-ordered 24 hours. We’re thankful to the support and outpouring of so many that have prayed for Kim and us because it’s the only way to do life through this journey. We are thankful to Hope Fellowship and so many other churches everywhere. Kim was laid to rest in an Air Force honors service at Tahoma National Cemetery Sunday, June 4th 2018.
