Rose Costello, 101, passed away Thursday at Rosewood Heights. Rose worked at Chappell’s for 40 years and was the former President of the St Therese Society of Our Lady of Pompei Church. She was well known for her famous cookie trays and for having a cookbook dedicated to her. You never left the “Cookie Lady’s” house without a small tray of cookies in hand. Predeceased by husband, Michael; brother, George Zingaro; sister, Jean Tucci; and brothers-in-law, Louis Bova & Alfred Tucci.
Survived by her son, Fred (Cathie) of Rochester NY; sister, Marie Bova; sister-in-law, Josephine Zingaro; grandchildren, Jackie (Steve) Johnston, Chris (Andrea) Costello & Terry (Kathy) Costello; great-grandchildren, Nicole Johnston, Rocco and Gianna Costello; nieces and nephews, Marguerite Hathaway, Gilda Fida, Sandy (Ken) Phy, Debbie Bova, Brett Forkhamer, Michelle Kessler, Frank Kessler, Candy (Carl) Short; grandniece and nephews, Jonathan Wilson, and Madison Short. Also survived by Kingston NY family, brother-in-law, Sal Castiglione & sister-in-law Dee (Joseph) Saccoman.
An entombment service will take place Monday 10 A.M.at" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">A.M.at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum and a Funeral Mass at 11 A.M.at Our Lady Of Pompei/St. Peter Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church.
