Dean R. Baker, 56, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at the Francis House. He became ill in 2009 and courageously fought a rare form of brain cancer. Dean passed away Monday in the arms of his wife with his sister by his side. Dean had a beautiful mind and his talents were many. He was an accomplished self taught musician and artist. A natural at public speaking, his wit and dry humor was appreciated by all who knew him. He loved the serenity of his home on the bay and was an avid fisherman, boater, and golfer. Dean’s career in banking started with Merchants Bank in 1974. He then worked for Syracuse Savings Bank, which later became Bank of America. Dean, a member of the American Institute of Banking, most recently served as Manager of the Liverpool HSBC in Glenn Crossing.
He leaves behind his loving and supportive daughter, Jessica, his wife of 36 years, Julie and his devoted Golden Retriever, Max. Dean is survived by his sister, Becky (Kevin) Morrow; brother, Scott (Ceil) Baker; brothers-in-law, Jim (Michaele) Ferretti and Paul Stewart; his mother-in-law, Lucille Ferretti; nephews, one niece, and several cousins. Dean was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Stewart and parents, Neil and Shirley Baker.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street.
