George Clifford Lee

Sylvania – George Clifford Lee, age 77, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Optim Medical Center-Screven. He was born in Screven County to the late Clifford Wayne & Ameila Bazemore Lee and was retired from Torrington Co. where he worked in Security and also worked as a logger. He was a member of Middleground Baptist Church and of the Midway Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his First Wife: Geraldine T. Lee; Brother: Raymond Lee; Half Sisters: Ada Mae Boddiford and Myrtle Kemp; Raised Grandson: Victor Ivey.

Survivors: Wife: Linda Mae Peavy Lee of Sylvania; Daughter and Son-In-Law: Denise & Wayne Stanley of Millen, GA; Raised Daughter and Son-In-Law: Reta & Ricky Ivey of Sylvania; Step-Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Michael Jenkins, Allen & Tina Jenkins and Craig & Wendy Jenkins, all of Sylvania; Sisters and Brother-In-Law: Lynette & Gordon Thigpen of Statesboro and Mary Joyce Morgan of Sylvania; Grandchildren: Ashley Howard and Ashton Howard, both of Augusta, GA and Keegan Stanley of Millen, GA; Step-Grandsons: Colby Jenkins, Dalton Jenkins and Ethan Jenkins, all of Lincolnton, GA: Raised Grandchildren: Chad & Bonnie Ivey of Ft. White, FL, Adam & Nichole Ivey of High Springs, FL and Wyatt Morgan of Savannah, GA; Great-Granddaughter: Sophia Jenkins of Americus, GA; Raised Grandchildren: Taylor Widner and Allie Widner, both of TX; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: Monday, January 27, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Middleground Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Dixon and Rev. Pete Wall officiating. Burial following at Middleground Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Danny Smith, Bud Bazemore, Stevie Sowell, Ernie Woods, Olin Boyd and Richard Boykin. Honorary Pallbearers: Jeff Davis, Will Boyd, Ben Boyd, Clinton Tilley, Hilda Jane Sowell, Mary Alice Sowell, JoAnn Sowell, Edward & Patti Boddiford, Sara Boddiford, Chad Boddiford and members of the Midway Hunting Club.
