A visitation for Yancey will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Forrest and Macy Gassaway and John T. Patterson; his grandchildren, Ryker Gardner and Ridge Gardner. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Tammy Stone Patterson; daughter, Jasmin Gardner and son in law Justin Gardner; his son, Zane Patterson and daughter in law Ashley Patterson; grandsons, Yance Kite, Kason Kite, Jagger Patterson, Grey Gortney, Maddox Patterson and granddaughter, Everlee Gardner; Parents, Jerry and Phyllis Patterson; grandmother, Vida Patterson; Brother, Scott Patterson (Tina); Sisters, Candy Byrd (Jeff) and Brandy Willis; Several nieces and nephews.
He loved racing and going to car shows with his family. His favorite childhood race car driver was Davey Allison. A social butterfly his wife would say. He worked at Nemak as an operator for 20 plus years until being diagnosed with cancer in June 2020. He put up a great fight and lived his life to the fullest. He loved spending time with his family and friends and grilling, showing off his cooking skills. A grill master his son would say. He enjoyed playing golf, riding his Harley. He loved watching Alabama football and Atlanta Braves games, hanging out with friends and family in Fayetteville at "Little Pauls".
His sweet spirit and love of people will always be remembered
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Red Cross Blood Bank and Sylacauga Boys Club
A Celebration of Life will be held immediately after the services at Harvey's on Noble
