Sylacauga, AL - William T. (Bill) Gill, 67, of Sylacauga, Alabama passed away surrounded by family and friends March 9th, 2018 at Coosa Valley Medical Center.
Bill was born January 24th, 1951 to Leon and Gladys Gill in Sylacauga, Alabama. He married Judy Smith on September 17, 1971 and was married for 46 years. He had 3 loving children and 5 grandchildren. He was an extremely kind, compassionate, giving man, and always put the needs of others before his own. He was a great provider for his family and loved them deeply. His family meant everything to him and he enjoyed each moment he got to spend with them. He was an active member at First Freewill Baptist Church, where he was a choir member and enjoyed singing solos. He taught children's church and loved each child dearly. He received great joy from being a faithful visitor to patients at the nursing home. To know him was to love him and he impacted every person he came in contact with. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Gill is preceded in death by his father, Leon Gill; and sisters, Margaret Weathers, Wanda Gill, and Kim Christopher.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy S. Gill; son, William Bradley (Tammy) Gill of Sylacauga; two daughters, Susan Paige Gill (Jamey Milam) of Sylacauga and Pamela Carol (Adam) Parker of Sylacauga; five grandchildren, Kayla Shay Holmes, Logan Baily Bryant, Allison Grace Gill, Rylie Caroline Parker, and Grayson Adam Parker; mother, Gladys Gill of Sylacauga; two sisters, Betty (Jimmy) Whaley and Barbara (Kenneth) Whaley; brother, Leon (Jennifer) Gill; step grandchildren, Jacob Ryan Milam and Maccoy Wren Milam; step-great-grandchildren, Remington Lynne Milam and Pruitt Coy Milam; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., at First Freewill Baptist Church in Sylacauga, with Rev. Heath Webb, Rev. Wayne McDaniel, and Rev. Tim Wilson officiating. He will lie in state one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL immediately following the funeral service.
Pallbearers will be his nephews; Mike Weathers, David Weathers, Jeff Whaley, Kenny Whaley, Tony Gill, and Darren Winningham. Honorary pallbearer will be Scott Whaley.
