John D. Allen

Alpine, AL - Graveside service for John D. Allen, 87, will be Sunday, February 26, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Lanier Cemetery with Rev. William Casaday officiating. Burial will be in Lanier Cemetery in Alpine, AL. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Mr. Allen died Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Brookwood Select Care. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry D. and Paulene F. Allen, 3 sisters, Lorene Campbell, Madge Parks and Ruth Caldwell, son, Michael G. Allen, and grandson, Joshua H. Allen. Mr. Allen was Revenue Commissioner with Talladega Co. for 18 years and also worked at Kimberly Clarke for 22 years. He was a Korean War Veteran and attended 1st Baptist Church in Childersburg and Cartersville Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Allen; sister, Virginia Ingram; brother, George O. (Lou Ann) Allen; son, Kenneth D. (Debbie Tucker) Allen; five grandchildren, D. Luke Allen, John B. (Leah) Allen, Jessica L. Allen, Lauri (Matthew) Brausch, Michael G. Allen , II; great-grandson, J. Kaleb Allen;

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Allen, Luke Allen, John Allen, Kaleb Allen, Scott Allen, Mitch Allen, Mark Allen, Lowell Fannin Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be John Teague, David Mahaffey, Steve Mahaffey, Ron Johnson, Archie Wesley, Detrolia Garrett and Bobby Rowan.
