Chelsea, AL - Hoyt Homer Picklesimer, 91, of Murphy, North Carolina passed away on January 19, 2022 at his home in Chelsea, surrounded by family.
Due to Covid concerns, there will not be a visitation. The funeral arrangements are:
Saturday, January 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church. Pastor Tim Cox and Pastor Keith Pugh will lead the service. The burial will follow at the LBC Cemetery.
Born September 7, 1930, in Ducktown, Tennessee, Hoyt is the son of Lush and Leta Picklesimer of Murphy, North Carolina. He received his education at Young Harris Junior College and graduated from Western Carolina in 1954.
After graduating from WCU, Hoyt was drafted into the Army. He worked in Washington, DC - where he met his wife of 64 years, Betty. The two were married on October 2, 1957.
Hoyt is survived by his wife, Betty Picklesimer of Vernon, AL

Hudson, Harper, Henry, Lane, CaryAnn and Bennett.
Hoyt served in the military under the Army, Air Force and Air National Guard for over 25 years, retiring as a Master Sargent in the 80's. He also worked as a middle school math teacher while living in Ducktown, Tennessee and at US Steel as an accountant.
An avid fan of the University of Alabama football team, Hoyt, Betty and their closest friends, Joe & 'Nita Brown and Lavonne & Bunk Wilson spent many years traveling to watch the Tide Roll.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Baptist Church.
