It is with great sadness that we the family announce the sudden passing of Simon Joseph Jeddore (80) of Eskasoni. Born and raised in Eskasoni, Simon was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Ann (Denny) Jeddore. Simon was a dedicated Fire Chief of the Eskasoni Fire Department for more than 30 years, working tirelessly to serve his community before retiring in 2008. He was a dedicated member of the Eskasoni Holy Family Parish, where he volunteered his time and services with various roles throughout the years including Cross Carrier, Eucharistic Minister, Groundskeeper, as a Cemetery Maintenance and all-around handyman. He also had a small engine repair business and was well known in the community as the go-to man to fix your lawnmower. Simon was a loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Godfather.
He is predeceased by his darling wife of 45 years, Mary Jane, his parents Joseph and Mary Ann (Denny) Jeddore, grandfather the late Chief Noel Jeddore and his siblings John and Isabel. Simon is united in Heaven with his children, Noel Jeddore and Nathan Paul. He will be remembered by his father in-law, Levi Denny, his children Peter Denny (Alana), Francine Denny (Dean), and Paul Michael Jeddore, Marianne (Jeddore) Laing, beloved dada to 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by godchildren Rhenelda Sylliboy and Jason Matthews. Simon adored all his nephews, nieces, and cousins. He will forever be remembered for being a kind, humble, and loving family man who will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend our most heartfelt appreciation for the quality and care our father and brother received during their final hours. A special thank you to the first responders and the medical staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan 29th, after 7pm at the Gabriel Center in Eskasoni. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan 31st at 10:30am, Fr.
