It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Prentice Albert Gerard Johnson on April 1, 2013 in Eskasoni. Born in Sydney, he was the son of Mary and Allan Googoo and baby boy forever to Dr. Margaret Johnson ‘Dr.Granny ‘ and John T. Johnson.
A country music fan, he loved to sing. He was a hard worker and always took his jobs seriously. He took pride in working as a janitor in Membertou and also was an adult care worker for Eskasoni. He made the disabled and elders feel extra special and he was well known for taking care of his beloved mom, Dr. Granny.
He is survived by four children and two step-children: two daughters, Angie Joy and Presley, two sons, Justin MacNeil and Prentice ‘PJ’, two step children: Tyron and Drey, brothers: Dylan and Ethan, sisters: Stephanie, Sacha and Carlee, step brother: Derek Johnson. Also survived by his aunts: Lottie Johnson, Elizabeth Paul, Patricia Dennis, Carol (Russell) Marshall, uncles: Albert Julian, Gerald Johnson, Gerard (Regina) Johnson and Thomas (Elizabeth) Johnson.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Margaret and John T. Johnson, sister in infancy Allie Catherine Googoo, uncles: Arthur Julian, Ralph Julian, aunts, Joan Marshall and Linda Moore.
Visitation will take place Saturday, April 6 at the Gabriel Center after 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at the Holy Family Church in Eskasoni on Monday, April 8 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Online condolences can be made at www.twcurry.com.
