We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother Patricia Ann Paul who passed away peacefully with her companion and children by her side on April 25, 2021 at her home in Eskasoni. She was born on January 17, 1960 in Antigonish. She lived in Paqtnkek for a brief period of time then to Whycocomagh, and eventually moved to Eskasoni where she became one of the most loved community members.
She was predeceased by her mother Rosie Paul, Foster mother Annie Prosper, and Foster mother Mary Ann Prosper. Daughter Cheryl Ann Johnson, step son Andrew Alex, granddaughter Margaret Ann Johnson, grandson Jax Johnson, sister Dianne Paul, and brother Wayne Paul.
She will be missed by her companion John Sylliboy, Daughters Lynn Johnson (Stephane), Tricia Johnson, and her baby girl Paige Jeddore (Patrick) and her only son John T. Johnson (Sarita), Her spoiled dog Precious, Stepchildren Connie Francis, Lindsay Sylvester (Joey), Melvin Alex (Sophia), Jerome Alex (Emily). She is also survived by her sisters, Ducy Paul, Freda Paul, Delores Paul, Mary Paul, Anne Marie Prosper (Kerry), Darlene Paul (Earl), one brother Peter Paul, Two godchildren Martin Julian, and Deet Johnson, numerous nieces and nephews, and will be missed by her grandchildren whom she loved to the moon and back.
Patricia was a hardworking woman whom was very kind hearted and always gave a warm comforting smile. She was always chatting up a storm wherever she went. Patricia was known for her “Pat subs”, “Mag’s burgers” and her love for cooking. Patricia loved her life and especially loved her grandchildren whom she loved spending time with on most of her days. She volunteered most of her life with the Ladies Auxiliary and continued volunteering for the playground committee. Throughout Patricia’s life, she was a home care worker, a janitor, and lastly, she was a cook at the Goat Island Café. Patricia loved listening to music and karaokeing to the 70’s and 80’s. She loved music so much that she won “Do the hustle” in 2009 and won best dancer in 2015 at the Acho Man Disco Dance. Patricia will be greatly missed by her Family, Friends, Community, and especially by her “Possies.”

Due to province wide lockdown there is no public wake or funeral. The funeral services will be livestreamed on the Eskasoni First Nation Facebook Page and ETV. Livestream will take place on Saturday, May 1 starting at 10:30am.
