Sydney
It is with very heavy hearts that the family of Patricia Dickie, 61, announce her sudden passing on July 28, 2018 at the Halifax Infirmary.
Our beloved mother, daughter, sister and grandmother was born on December 21, 1956 in Antigonish, NS to Dorothy Morrison and the late Thomas Morrison.
In 1982 ‘Patsy’ married the love of her life William ‘Billy’ Dickie and together they had 2 children, Jenna and Billy.
Patsy retired from Bell in 2016 after a long and successful career. Just prior to her retirement she became “Mé” to her grandson Edward whom she often referred to as the light of her life. Patsy’s passions in life were her family and spreading joy and kindness to anyone who was fortunate enough to meet her. Always the life of the party, our mother loved to dance, sing and laugh; and she lit up every room she entered. She was loved by all for her beautiful soul, her boundless energy, her endless compassion, and her abundant generosity. She had a way of making everyone feel as though they’ve known her their whole lives. She was truly an angel on earth.
Patsy is survived by her mother, Dorothy and she will forever be loved and missed by her children Jenna (Allen) and Billy (Bryan) and her grandson Edward. She will be dearly missed by her amazing sisters Judy (Amable), Carolyn (Armand), and Doreen (Albert) and her wonderful partner George. She will aslo be missed by her sisters-in-law Mary (Ian) and Carol (Peter) and brother-in-law Jimmy (Liz) as well as her many beloved nieces and nephews and more friends than you can imagine.
She was predeceased by her husband Billy, her father Thomas, her mother and father-in-law James and Marion and her sister-in-law Beverly.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff and doctors at the Strait Richmond Hospital, the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and Halifax Infirmary Intensive Care Units for your kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
Visitation for Patricia Dickie will be on Thursday, August 2 from 6 -9 pm at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River with Fr. Patrick O’Neill officiating.
