Nicholas Theodore Sobol, 61, of Northside East Bay, died peacefully on October 26th in An Cala, Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Nick was born in Sydney on November 19, 1950, to the late Stella (Paruch) and Joseph Sobol.
Nick leaves behind the two loves of his life, his wife Josie (Boyd) and son Ben. He cherished his role as husband and father and nothing gave him more joy than his family.
He will be deeply missed by his brother John (Val) of Southside Boularderie and sisters Marilyn Morrison and Sharon of Sydney.
Nick’s many close and lifelong friends will also greatly miss him, as will his almost sister, Lee Easterly, his four very special nieces and his many co-workers and fellow actors where he has been a valued member of the Cape Breton University community for over 35 years. He will be fondly remembered in years to come for his work in the library and his talent on the stage of the CBU Boardmore Playhouse.
Nick was predeceased by his parents, brother Joe and sister Janet.
Nick was a man of kindness, with a tender heart and gentle spirit. He will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
Cremation has occurred. Visitation will be held at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel in Sydney on Thursday, November 1st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 2nd at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, East Bay, presided by Father Frank Abbass.
