We are sad to announce the passing of Mary Jane Penney, recently from Mira Road and formerly of Edmonton Alberta. Mary Jane passed away peacefully at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, age of 64, due to a lengthy illness.
Born on July 19th, 1959 and raised in Whitney Pier. Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary (Neary) Penney.
She was the graduate of Holy Angel's High School, the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, NSCC Cape Breton Regional Vocational School (graphic Design) Sydney and was a member of the Local 92 Laborers Union in Edmonton, Alberta.
Mary Jane is survived by her daughter, Nicole Penney ( Nick Newman) brother; Leonard Penney sisters; Rita MacIsaac, Madonna Penney, sister-in-law; Brenda Penney and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother; Tommy Penney, nephew; Jim Penney and brother- in-law; Michael MacIsaac.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
