Margaret Rita Wood, 97 of Sydney, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, Miner’s Lane, Sydney.

Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ada (O’Brien) McIntyre.

Margaret was a member of Sacred Heart parish, Sydney.

She is survived by daughters Nora (Mrs. James LeLand), Ottawa, ON; Marjorie (Mrs. James Hickey), Kingston, ON; sons John, Edmonton, AB; George (Florence); Joseph (Mary) MacIntyre, both of Sydney, sister Annie (Mrs. Dan McEachern), New Waterford, 76 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Frank Burton Wood, son Francis Jr., infant daughter Carol-Ann; brothers Duncan, John, Joseph and sister Sarah.

Visitation for the late Mrs. Wood will take place on Wednesday, October 5 from 3-6 p.m. with funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 6 both in T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Rev. Anthony O’Connor officiating. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Sydney.

Family flowers only. Donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
