

65 – Westmount
Linda MacKinnon, 65 of Westmount formerly of Ashby, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 after a courageous battle with illness at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney, she was the only child of Olga (Nalepa) MacKinnon of Sydney and the late Malcolm J. MacKinnon.
Linda was a telephone operator with MT&T for 30 years retiring in 1998 and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She did volunteer work for the RCMP and was very active with local arts and crafts. Linda worshipped her 6 adorable grandchildren and her great granddaughter. Her family was everything to her.
She is survived by her husband Ambrose, her daughter Pamela Marie Sullivan of Westmount; 3 grandsons Brendan, Braidan, Brydan; 3 granddaughters Chauncey, Chailey, Chasity and great granddaughter Maddison and by several brothers and sisters-in-law and their families, Donnie (Sharon), Sydney; Michael (Ellie), St.Catherine’s, ON; Lorna MacKinnon, Don Mills, ON; Mary (Pat) Larade, Sydney; Agnes (Paul) Grundy, Halifax; Albert (Martina), Howie Centre and by her very close friend Joanne Armstrong, whom she considered as a sister. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles.
Visitation for Linda with take place on Friday, July 27, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 am at Holy Rosary Church with Rev. Doug Murphy officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery, Westmount.
