It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Eulene (Kehoe) MacIsaac on Thursday, June 13, 2024 in the Skylight Unit of The Cove Guest Home. Born on February 26, 1929 in Sydney, Joan was the only child of the late Matilda (Peters) and Everett Kehoe. She was a graduate of Holy Angels High School and Secretarial Arts from Mount St. Bernard University. Following graduation, she worked in a local law office until subsequent marriage to the late Joseph MacIsaac who passed in 1998. Joan was a long-time member of St. Joseph/St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish CWL, eucharistic minister, parish council member, woman’s group of the KOC and an Associate of the CNDs.
She is survived by her children: Cathy (Mel MacNeil), Sydney; Ronnie, Sydney; Susan (Steve Sharkey),St. Albert AB, and Bill (Alison) of Halifax as well as grandchildren Melissa, Carolyn, Allison, Ryan, Melanie, Tess, Steven, Sarah, Sheryl, Stacy, Colin and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Joe, she was predeceased by an infant son, Roderick, brother -in law Donnie and wife Francie MacIsaac and sister-in-law Sr Maria Loyola (CSM) as well as many very good friends and relatives whom she was blessed to have.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff of The Cove for their excellent care during Joan’s relatively brief stay.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 18 at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 40 Cabot Street, Sydney with Rev Bill Burke officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.twcurry.com
