We regret to announce the passing of Jean MacLeod, peacefully, at the Harbourstone enhanced care facility, on February 20th, 2021. Jean was born September 22nd, 1933, in Sydney NS, the daughter of Martin, and Josephine (Dawson) Delaney.
Jean grew up in Ashby, where she met and married her late husband, Hugh MacLeod. They later moved to Ontario, where they lived and worked, until retirement, returning to Cape Breton in 1988.
She is survived by her son Robert MacLeod, grand-daughters, Tatum MacLeod, and Holly (Trenton) Rowell, great grandchildren, Blake Rowell, Ender Rowell, Braden Rowell, sisters Agnes (Martin) MacIntyre, brothers Joseph (Betty), and Patrick (Myrna) Delaney, along with several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh, her parents, brothers Martin Jr (Ruth), Gerald (Margaret), Ronald (Marie), and James (Cecilia) Delaney, and sisters Theresa (Ted) Smith, Margaret (Earl) Healey, and Mary (William) Tobin.
Jean was a lovely, outgoing person who loved life. She was always on the go, loved to sing, and was a long time member of the ukulele strummers.
