Antigonish
It is with great sadness that we, the family of Emily Jane Hartigan of Arbor Drive Extension, Antigonish County, announce her sudden passing on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish.
Emily was born in Sydney, the daughter of the late Raymond and Sarah (Joshua) Theriault.
Emily attended Holy Angels High and worked on the Pediatric nursing staff at St. Rita’s Hospital in Sydney prior to her marriage in 1975. She then moved to Bridgewater where her husband worked and where her son was born. In 1979 the family moved to Antigonish when her husband was transferred to the H.R. Doane office. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, taking pictures and travelling.
She is survived by her husband, Carl and her only child and son, Jonathan (Annie), Houston, Texas; sisters Jeanette (Russell) O’Toole, Paulette (Willie) Ball, Raylene Theriault, Claire (Gerry) Campbell, all of Sydney and one brother, Paul (Nicole) Theriault, PEI. She had a great love for her family and friends and especially her nieces and nephews and the grandkids of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation for Emily Hartigan will be held at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel, today (Friday) from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Anthony O’Connor officiating with interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
