Born in Sydney, NS, on Feb 5th, 1959, Darrell was the son of the late Rita (Chiasson) and Leo Wall. Left to mourn his loss is his wife of 31 years, Ann Marie (Shea) Wall. Darrell is also survived by his sister Wendy (Jim) Corbett and his brothers Daniel (Carol) Wall and Kevin (Shannon) Wall. He was predeceased by his brother Gary Wall in 2018. He is also loved, and shared a special bond with sisters in law Sharon MacDonald, Jacqueline (David) MacKinnon, and brothers in law Shaun (Bev) Shea, Dennis (Ruth) Shea, Joe (Karen) Shea and Tommy (Mary Ellen) Shea. Darrell graduated from The National School of Dental Therapy, Sask., and worked for thirty years as a Dental Therapist in the First Nation communities of Iqaluit, NWT, Burnt Church NB, and the Cape Breton communities of Chapel Island, Waycobah and Wagmatcook. He loved his work, made deep friendships with those he worked with, and was both honored and respected by all whom he served.
Darrell loved being in the freedom of the great outdoors, especially in the fall, when he enjoyed many years of fly fishing and hunting. It was, therefore, so fitting that his passing occurred in one of his favorite places, the peaceful and beautiful hills of North Side East Bay.
A great lover of music, he enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica, singing, laughing and entertaining his friends in his “Man Cave”. In his “Man Cave”, there can be found a tribute to Darrell’s accomplishments as a baseball player. He and his team members, The Sydney Stars, were honored by The Cape Breton Sports Heritage Hall of Fame, for their win of the 1972 Canadian Beaver Baseball Championship in Peace River, Alberta.
Always full of life, he was blessed to have the ability to see the humor in all situations. Darrell was like a magnet to children, and they all loved and adored him. Always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, he will be remembered for his many acts of kindness to others. He lived life the way he wanted, and enjoyed deep and full-filling lifelong friendships. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
