Daniel "Chief" Marshall

He was employed with the Eskasoni Housing for many number of years until his recent death. In his younger days you could see him biking down the road with his fishing rod and backpack or just biking to work. His true heroes were his nieces and nephews Rayma, Julia, Jessie, Andalee, Rainbow, Edwin, Ray and Junard. He took his nephews under his wing and was mentoring them to do carpentry and drywall, he also taught them how to mow the lawn “the right way” as he would put it.

Danny loved to watch movies and enjoy a good Sunday dinner. He had many good friends of all ages and would give the shirt off his back or the last of his money. He worked in many homes over the years and will be greatly missed. So as it was put, better take care of your walls.

Danny is predeceased by his fiancé and love of his life Janet Johnson, his maternal and paternal grandparents, his parents Frank Marshall and Mary Julia (Paul) Marshall, his sister Annie Jane Poulette, brothers; Kenny “Bose” Marshall and Clarence Paul, his godson Harry Lafford Jr., as well as godfather Gabriel Francis and is also predeceased by four nephews.

Danny is survived by his siblings; Joe Paul (Yvonne), Mary Jane Stevens (Walter), Mary Elizabeth Poulette (Brendon), Mary Helen Pierro (Charlie), Darlene Marshall, Nora Marshall and Frank Marshall. Danny also leaves behind his godchildren Rainbow Poulette, Shelby Johnson and Edmund Jay Morris, his godmother Mary Jane Sanipass and his only aunt Elizabeth Knockwood, as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Visitation for Danny will begin on Mon, May 22nd after 7pm, at the Gabriel Centre in Eskasoni. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wed, May 24th at 10:30am at Holy Family Church with Fr.
