Ann was the daughter of James and Agnes (Gillis) Dwyer. Ann was deceased by her loving husband of 66 years Wallace (Wally) Polegato and her brother Gillis Dwyer.
Ann is survived by her children Jimmy (Donna) Polegato, Debbie (Wally) Coady, Jean Pyne, Gerard (Martha) Polegato, Lynn Polegato, Marie (Johnny). Ann is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Ann was a harder worker who held the position of Returning officer for the Province of Nova Scotia for 42 years and various other positions with elections for many years after, a job she greatly enjoyed. Ann was also co-owner of Polegato Landscaping for many years.
In her younger years Ann and her husband Wally fostered many children together which speaks volumes to the loving and caring woman she was. The kind of woman who wouldn't hesitate to not only open her home but also her heart to anyone in need of love and support.
We, the family of Ann are beyond thankful for the doctors and nurses of the palliative care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their care and compassion for our dear Ann. There are no words we could say that would convey our gratitude for you all. We also want to express our undying gratitude and thanks for Dr. Glen Worth, Ann's special buddy. He has shown Ann so much love and compassion over the years and for that we will be forever grateful.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.TWCurry.com for the Polegato family.
