It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Natacha LeRoy, at the age of 48. Natacha was born June 17th, 1975, at St Rita’s hospital in Sydney. Leaving behind a legacy of love and faith, she was many things to many different people. She was a beloved daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and mother to six children; five girls, and one boy, who were the heart and soul of her world.
Natacha is predeceased by her grandparents Donald and Emmaline LeRoy, her brother Brian White and her nephew Dayton Leroy. She leaves to mourn her partner William McIntyre of 20 years; some knew the pair as Bonnie and Clyde. Her Mother Glenda LeRoy, 5 siblings and her 3 Grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Natacha devoted much of her life to other people. Her faith was undeniable she would often be heard saying, "Give it to God."
Natacha will be remembered as a compassionate soul with a big heart for everyone she knew. Soft spoken, but fiery, Natacha would come to the defense and rescue of anyone she loved. She truly believed in forgiveness and in second chances. She enjoyed having heart to heart conversations, sharing the hard truths about life. Her awareness and personal experiences in life gave others hope.
Natacha was like a breath of fresh air, a calmness about her combined with her firecracker spirit, sense of humor, and a beautiful genuine smile would light up a room even in times of her own struggle. She was quick to offer a listening ear, a shoulder, a meal, or a place to stay for anyone down on their luck or struggling in this life. Her home was your home - no matter who you were, or where you came from. An open-door policy created dozens of relationships over her life, all special and unique in their own way. Natacha had a passion for nature, she loved to collect sea glass and swim in the ocean, people often knew that her poetry writing and love of music was something she truly valued.
Natacha created her own business ‘Abby’s cleaning service’ Natacha was part of ‘The Fire of Love’ prayer group that was held at St. Joseph's Church, Bras d'Or. She was an Alumnus of Community CARES Youth Outreach in Sydney Mines and graduated with concentrations in Employment Skills in Community Service. She excelled in all aspects of those programs and assisted in organizing workshops. Natacha always welcomed the call to sit and share at round tables for the community. Natacha truly embodied a beautifulness on the outside and the inside. She will be remembered by her CCYO friends for her courage in the face of adversity, her beautiful smile, and as a natural peer helper.
As we mourn the physical loss of Natacha, we celebrate the unwavering love she held for her family and the profound impact she had on all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she find eternal peace in the arms of her Savior, and may her memory continue to inspire faith, love, and gratitude in the hearts of those who remember her fondly.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7th, from 11am-2pm, at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home. A celebration of Natacha's life will be held at 3pm, also on December 7th, at the Sydney Mine's Fire Hall. Michael Morrison to officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Brookside Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
