It is with heavy hearts that we the family of Angus Leo MacKinnon of South Ridge Road announce his passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on October 25, 2015, surrounded by his family.
Angus Leo MacKinnon was the son of the late William Stephen MacKinnon and Flora (Fraser) MacKinnon. He was born in Meat Cove on July 31, 1930. He was a devoted husband, loving father and doting grandfather and great grandfather. He spent his early years as a fisherman and went on to be a woodsman who loved the outdoors, hunting and trapping. Leo could always be found outside tending to his lawn, and took great pride in his Christmas display that he spent countless hours preparing. One of his biggest joys came from having a baby on his lap. We will always remember Papa and the great love he had for his family.
Leo leaves behind the love of his life Margaret, with whom he spent 58 wonderful years, Sons; William (Annaleta), Leo (Marie), Dale (Tammy) and Storm (Pauline); Grandchildren: Ashley, Luke, Rosalie, Miranda, Angela, David Lee, Patrice, Gracie, Rory, Katelynn and Emily; Great-grandchildren: Kiera, Georgia, Kingston, Sebastian, Easton, Cambria, Piper, Ivy and Harley; brothers: Charlie (Margie), and Alex, Sisters: Christy, Alice, Patsy and Willena (Wayne), Sisters-in-Law, Shari and Atlantia and brothers-in-law, Gary and Walter.
Besides his parents Leo was predeceased by sons: Patrick (Donna), Allan; brothers Stevie and Danny; Sisters: Sadie, Katie, Jessie, Rose and Linda and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, also by a baby daughter in infancy.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will to be held at 2:00pm, on Thursday October 29, 2015 in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Bay St. Lawrence, with Rev.
