Born at home in Ingonish on November 5, 1944, he was the son of the late Jack and Bridget Whitty. Adrian was a devoted lifelong member of the St. Peter's Parish. He is survived by his loving wife Patsy of 53 years, cherished son and daughter Darren and Melonie, proud Papa of his only grandchild, Taelyn Whitty-Cargill, special brother, John (Claudia) and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers.
In his younger years, he worked as a janitor at the St. Peter's Parish Hall, where many square dances and movies were held. He worked as a Rodman at the Wreck Cove Power Plant and then pursued his true passion of becoming a carpenter. With pride and perfection, he left his mark from Meat Cove to Riverview, through his love of carpentry.
Adrian enjoyed golfing, boating, washer toss, weekly pictionary games, family gatherings at home and sitting out by the fire with Patsy enjoying a sociable together.
Adrian will be fondly remembered for his immense love for his family, his keen sense of humour and his unique way of spelling.
Predeceased by his parents, his sons Glenn and Kevin, brothers Albert, Godfrey, Charles and Scott, sisters Theresa Ross, Lena MacNeil and Ellen Pellarine, nephews Gary, Frankie and Bobby MacNeil, Stewart Whitty and Godfrey Pellerine.
A special thank you to Dr. Hoffer, Dr. Smith and the entire devoted and caring nursing staff, cooks and cleaners of BMH. We will forever be grateful for your compassion and going above and beyond to take care of Adrian.
