Born in Fall River, son of the late Arthur and Phyllis (Rose) Grover, he was a lifelong resident of Swansea.
Mr. Grover was a 1955 graduate of Joseph Case High School, and served as an MP in the United States Army. He was for many years the Service Manager at Powers Pontiac in Taunton, and he also worked on the Prudence Island Ferry.
As a Swansea Ambulance Corps driver, Mr. Grover became a registered E.M.T. in 1975. He was a talented handyman, enjoyed woodworking, and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots.
He is survived by his son, Robert W. Grover, and his wife, Mareike, and one granddaughter, Helene M. Grover, all of Brooklyn, NY, his sister, Lois V. Powers, of Leesburg, VA; beloved companion, Susan Carpenter, of Swansea; and several nieces and nephews. He was father of the late Cheryl-Ann Grover.
His Funeral will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 10:00AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST 189 Gardner’s Neck Rd. Swansea.
