Mark Warren Morris, 55, of Swansea, MA, passed away Monday, November 10th after a long battle with Lyme and Sarcoidosis. He was born In Morgantown, WV on August 3rd 1959 to Mary Virginia Warnick-Morris and the late Clyde Warren Morris. Mark graduated from University High School in Morgantown, WV in 1978. He then went on to proudly serve on the USS Bergall (SSN 667) and the USS John Rodgers (DD 983) for the United States Navy from 1979 to 1985. He worked as a contractor for the Department of Defense after he left the Navy. He worked for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center and the Fleet Technical Support Center, Atlantic in Norfolk, VA. Currently he was working at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI as an Electronics Technician. He was married to Mary Ann Daniel-Morris on the 27th of August 1994 and had just celebrated their 20th anniversary in Boston, MA. In his free time he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Street Glide, looking at fast cars with his son, gardening, spending time with his dogs and was an avid follower of music. His musical preference was varied but his favorite music was mostly in the Classic Rock, Blues and Alternative genres. He enjoyed a good beer or scotch and an occasional cigar with friends. He was also a very gifted artist excelling in painting and photography. He enjoyed reading non-fiction books and about various religions. He enjoyed collecting vases, tapestries, ornamental statues and cookbooks from different cultures. This also extended to his gift for cooking and enjoying a wide pallet of favorite foods including Indian, Thai, Vietnamese and Mexican cuisine. Mark was a wonderful son, husband and father. He was also a loyal and valuable friend to all who knew him. He would do anything to help out a friend in need and never asked for anything in return. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann Morris and their son Ethan Wyatt Morris, his mother Mary Virginia Morris, his Sister Mary Maxine Robison-Morris, his daughter Faith Ann Gonzalez, his grandchildren Alea and Edward Gonzalez, his mother-in-law Jewel Berg and her husband Ronald, his father-in-law John Daniel and his wife Keith, his niece Virginia Keener and his great nieces Kylie Bebout, Jessica Bebout and Katelynn Keener. His loving and caring spirit will be remembered at the Waring-Sullivan Funeral Home on 189 Gardners Neck Rd in Swansea, MA 02777 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, 14 November 2014. He will be buried in his hometown of Morgantown, WV.
