Kenneth J. Thorpe, Sr., age 82, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024 at The Arbors at Taunton Assisted Living. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Hebert) Thorpe to whom he had been married 28 years.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late Peter and Belmira (Farias) Thorpe, he was a longtime resident of Swansea.
A Graduate of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, Kenneth worked as a Design Drafting Engineer for Raytheon for 38 years.
A lover of all things ocean, Kenneth especially took pleasure in being out on his boats. He enjoyed playing on Raytheon’s Golf and Bowling Leagues.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Sherri Rodrigues and her husband James of Swansea, Tammy Arruda and her husband Joseph of Somerset and Kenneth Thorpe, Jr. and his wife Donna of Swansea; one brother; Peter Thorpe and his wife Judith of Tiverton, RI; seven grandchildren, Kenneth, Stephen, Jessica, Holly, Kelli, Amanda and Riely; four great-grand children Tristan, Ava, Hudson and Theo and several nieces. He was the father of the late Kevin Thorpe and the grandfather to the late Michael Thorpe.
Private arrangements are in the care of Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest.
